Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need one hearing aid or two?
This depends on your hearing needs and that is determined by a thorough hearing evaluation by our hearing specialist.
Do you charge for a hearing evaluation?
No. We are proud to offer this valuable service to everyone.
How often should my hearing be evaluated?
Because hearing can change, it is recommended to have your hearing evaluated annually.
What happens during a hearing evaluation?
At this appointment you will come to one of our two convenient locations. You will be greeted by a receptionist who will let your specialist know you have arrived. You may help your self to coffee and other refreshments while you lounge in our inviting waiting area. Our specialist will call you back to our sound room, and will take a brief case history of current ear and hearing problems that you are facing. We will look in your ears. We will then proceed with the evaluation. This is when we will determine, 1. if there is a loss and 2. if it is possible to medically correct the lost or 3. if you would benefit from hearing aids. We will then explain that you will be hearing tones through a head set that we place on you. You will tell us that you hear these tones by pressing a button that we give you, or raising your hand.
After I have my hearing evaluation, if it is determined that I would benefit from hearing aids, how much is my hearing aid consultation appointment?
This appointment is also of no charge and typically happens right after your hearing evaluation.
What happens at a hearing aid consultation appointment?
At a hearing aid consultation appointment, your hearing specialist will review your hearing evaluation, and determine your best hearing solution. You will have the valuable opportunity to sample sounds through state of the art hearing aids that we have on hand programmed to YOUR hearing needs, to get an idea of how hearing better would benefit you.
Why should I bring a family member or close friend with me to my appointment?

Hearing a voice that you hear often or may have trouble with, is an excellent way to hear how hearing aids will benefit you!
